Pegay’s favorite American horse suit

Experts believe that the pinto suit appeared a very long time ago, just like the rest of the monochrome ones. Even in ancient Egyptian books you can find illustrations with unusual spotted mares. To date, spotted horses are bred as a result of crossing individuals.

In America itself, such beautiful and noble horses appeared with the help of conquistadors. Thus, a characteristic feature is the mandatory presence of white spots on the main color background. In fact, the drawings on the body are quite diverse – their palette includes shades from the minimum presence of a white color to its maximum presence. Photo of a Bulan pinto. The spots on the body of horses representing the American variety have a peculiar irregular (chaotic) shape. Since, according to experts, spotting is not too characteristic of horses, it is customary to call it a violation of color pigmentation. It depends on the characteristics of the color to which type the noble animal belongs. If once this breed of horses aroused in my head only thoughts of North American noble horses, now pinto horses are found in most countries of the world.

A unique feature of these beautiful horses is the fact that some representatives can be partially albinos, which is why they have enchanting blue or multi-colored eyes. If you try to describe the classic pinto, then it has a light mane, a tail with pigmentation fragments (in the case when there is no primary color on this site) and absolutely white limbs. Paint types
Depending on the main color, horses are usually divided into types of color that are black-spotted (if there are white spots on the black suit), black-spotted (when light spots are randomly present on the main background), karakovo-pegim (when on the karaoke suit there are light fragments), red-piebald (if there are white blotches on the red color), brown-piebald (in the case when light areas are found on a brown shade), as well as Igrino-piebald, sex-piebald, bulano-pegil, chalo -pegim, savrazo-pegim, gray-pegim (the principle of the presence of color and pigment color ns in all types of painting the same) Photo by Bulan-tobiano pinto

As you can see, the color of this breed of horses is quite diverse, which was achieved by specialists who were crossbreeding and breeding the best representatives of these horses. And today, excellent specimens can be found both in Russia and in many other countries.

Crossing suits: successful and not
All true connoisseurs of noble horses know that color is the most basic distinguishing feature of any animal. This value is inherited and is characteristic not only of the color gamut of hair of the body, head, limbs and other parts of the body, but is also reflected in the color of the eyes and skin of the animal. And those distinctive features that one breed has in no way can be combined in representatives of another with their own.

One of the results of the crossing is the type of Tovero, which successfully combined both Tobiano and Overo. Even taking into account all the efforts of breeders, you can never say for sure what type of pie will be in the foal after crossing.

If both parents are of the overo type, but also the overo frame gene, then a white foal may not always result from a cross.

A horse of the sabino-overo type. Since the arrangement of white spots having an irregular shape is quite diverse, experts divided the “pieiness” into some types:

Tobiano – when the dark color has one or both sides of the animal. Dark areas on the body descend to the chest. Thus, a beautiful pattern in the shape of a shield appears on the body of the animal. The head of the representative of the tobiano suit has a characteristic primary color, sometimes you can find some marks on it – for example, in the shape of a star or others.
Overo – when the main color is scattered fantastically over the body of the animal, that is, not in the area between the tail and withers. The mane and tail of such an animal have the same hue.
In turn, the overo type includes three more subspecies – the overo frame, splashed white and sabino overo. The first species is quite curious – in such representatives of the breed, a bright spot on the body seems to be in a certain frame (that is, it is surrounded by the main color scheme). In such a horse, it is practically impossible to see white on the back line. The eyes are blue, the legs have a hue of the main color, the mane with the tail is also painted in the same color. The second species is characterized by the presence of white in the lower part of the animal’s body, while the back and neck are darker. The muzzle of this type of horse also has a white color, but the ears remain a shade of the main color. The third type of overo shows some similarities with the roan horses. The main suit here can be either black or brown or bay.
