Universal breed of horses Karachaevskaya – a real highlander

Experts say that the Karachay breed of horses was fully formed closer to the 15th century in Elbrus region. It was here, among the amazing picturesque nature, on the pastures that are located near the rivers of the famous Black and Caspian Seas, horse breeding was well developed in those years. Most likely, such horses as Scythian and Nogai had a huge influence on the formation of the Karachai horse breed. Already in the 19th century, such noble horses were popular far beyond the territory of the Caucasus. The famous Hungarian scientist Jean Charles de Bess wrote in his literary works that the Karachais are breeding beautiful horses. Of course, he was referring to the already known Karachai breed of horses.
