Perseron

Height at withers up to 175 cm; the typical suit is gray, but there is also a crow. Designed for work requiring special strength and endurance, they are also very widely used for horseback riding because of the particularly gentle running.

Breed history
Bred in France at the beginning of the XIX century by crossing eastern, mainly Arab stallions with a local harness of heavy western type. Perserons were imported into Russia in the 19th century.

The Persherons derive their name from the abundant pastures of the Perche breeding area south of the mouth of the River Seine; they represent a purebred Nori horse containing a highly variable admixture of oriental blood; to resort to such crossing has caused the need for strong and fast horses, necessary for the postal chase and omnibus. In the Perche area, unmotivated heavy haulers were bred, as well as a mass of large, large gray and raven-haired large horses being bought all over France. Thanks to the same suit, luxurious fodder and a uniform way of training, all these horses are very similar to each other, but still the totality of perches is a product of local conditions, not thoughtful, expedient breeding. This breed is simply strong, tall, fit for stride and a moderate trot – in short, something in between the real heavy and agricultural. In France, they are distinguished by growth: large, medium and small periron. The most common is the average.

In Russia, Persharon breed horses are grown only in the Ulyanovsk region at the October Horse Factory. At the moment the situation of the plant and all its inhabitants is deplorable: for the debts of the horses they sell to another plant.

Breed use
They were used for the removal of the Belarusian harness. They are also of tribal importance in America, where they have been petrified by a small local horse to obtain a coach and farm.
